What is Expungement?

Every time a person is arrested for a criminal offense, it appears on their criminal record. Having a bad criminal record can impair a person’s employment, housing, and education opportunities. Filing for an expungement involves a small fee and if expungement is granted, the person will have a clear criminal record. Expungement usually involves little time and there is no filing time limit for dismissals or non-judicial closures.
